BIG TALK Homework Monday 21st January
We will continue with the talk homework set last week because Big Write didn't go ahead because of the snow

Sleeping Beauty – Traditional Tales
We are still focusing on letter writing this week but this time it is based on the traditional tale of Sleeping Beauty. On Friday we are going to be writing a letter to Sleeping Beauty from the Wicked Fairy explaining why she did what she did.
Please can you discuss this week:
* reasons why the Wicked Fairy wanted Sleeping Beauty to prick her finger on the spinning wheel e.g. she was annoyed she was left out of the birth celebrations, she had been a fool out of, jealously, revenge
Encourage your child to extend their sentences with because, so, but, therefore, consequently, as a result etc.
Here are some examples: The wicked fairy wanted Sleeping Beauty to prick her finger because she was extremely annoyed at not being invited to celebrate the special birth of the truly loved princess.
The Wicked Witch wanted revenge for having not been asked to attend the celebration of the birth of the princess therefore she tricked the princess into using a spinning wheel.
This cruel and selfish fairy was annoyed at being left out of the celebrations so she put spell of the innocent baby.
Remember the more talk the better! You can make notes in your treasury if you wish.
