Dosbarth Coala Remember Remember!

What a fortnight we have had!  We dove straight into our new topic 'Remember, Remember' with returning to school with our collages of characters from The Gunpowder Plot or The Great Fire of London.  Mrs Howells and Mrs Stevens were impressed by the facts that we had learnt and the hard work our parents and us had put into this half-term task!  Da iawn pawb!!!!

We used ICT to find out about the The Gunpowder Plot, retold the story, devised rule on how to keep safe on Bonfire Night and had heated discussions on who was in the wrong King James or Guy Fawkes?  If you have time pop in and see our Gunpowder Plot Gallery where you can witness how we put our mathematical skills of measuring in cms to good use by measuring and then painting some of the Gunpowder plotters.

Excitedly, we moved on to study The Great Fire of London which we started by visiting the manor house in Llancaiach Fawr and then Pontypridd Fire Station.  We learnt a great deal about life in the past in the 1600s and the roles and responsibilities of fire officers!  It was an extremely worthwhile visit and as usual the pupils' behaviour was exceptional.  Enjoy some of the pictures below!

Back in school we travelled back in time and re-enacted the historical event The Great Fire of London.  Can you guess who we were?
