A New School Year Sept 2012
A big welcome again to the new school year and our new class DOSBARTH COALA. We have had a very productive first two weeks in school and the children have settled extremely well. I hope they have been talking about school at home.
What have we been focusing on so far?
We have been extremely busy researching the koala and Australia. We have used the internet and research books, made collages of koalas and other Australian animals and have even learned about Aboriginal paintings and composed our own! Why not pop into the corridor outside our classroom and see our fabulous work for yourself? Thank you to the children, Harrison, Jac and Theo Laugharne, who researched Aboriginal paintings at home and shared their work with the class. Diolch yn fawr iawn!
Mrs Stevens and I are very impressed with the children's attitudes towards learning and their enthusiasm for learning. It's going to be a good year!
This Thursday we were extremely lucky to kick-start our topic on 'Paws, Jaws and Claws' with a visit to Bristol Zoo. Pupils, teachers and parents thoroughly enjoyed and a great day was had by all. The enthusiasm from the children about the topic was amazing and their have taken control on what they now want to find out. Please enjoy the photographs below of our first two weeks in Dosbarth Coala.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I am on the yard each morning just after the bell and on Wednesday's I am on the yard at 8.50am.
Best Wishes
