Our boats are ready to set sail!

Dosbarth Coala's boats are finally ready to set sail for the Antarctica to rescue Captain Scott.  All children have worked extremely hard over the last few weeks and have investigated different boat designs including the shape and size of hulls, different pulleys and levers and have tested which materials would be most suitable to withstand the harsh, cold conditions.

The worked effortlessly as groups to make their boats and were amazing at overcoming any problems that they encountered along the way.  Well don also to Mrs Stevens and Mrs Tooze for their hard work also.

Yesterday, we planned and carries out an investigation to see which boat would life the most cargo.  The hovercraft was the winner and was able to lift 250g!!

All that is left now is to send a letter back to Captain Scott informing him of our designs and of course evaluating our designs.  Please enjoy the photos below which shows how much we have enjoyed this project!!!!
