The Jewish Shabbat

Dosbarth Coala have been busy this week learning about the Jewish Shabbat. Firstly, they had to solve a mystery as to why Rebecca had to rush home on a Friday after school. They worked hard in groups to Diamond 9 the clues as to why Rebecca may have to rush home. Next, they researched facts about the Jewish Shabbat and watched videos of Jewish families during the Sabbath meal. On Wednesday they received a letter asking them to work together to produce a Shabbat Kit which will tell other child why the Sabbath is so important to Jews. I was so pleased with the end result and you will be when you see the photographs below. Mrs Brennan and her dad also visited the school to role play the Sabbath Meal with the children. Diolch yn fawr iawn! Finally, the children finished the week by writing a diary as though they were a Jewish child during the Sabbath.
