Big Maths - How can I help my child?

Each day your child takes part in a 10 minute mental agility session that focuses entirely on the ‘Number’ aspect of the Foundation Phase Curriculum.  Through these sessions it is our aim to raise standards and increase pupil confidence.

Every day pupils will focus on a number of addition and multiplication facts called ‘learn its’.  There are a different set of ‘learn its’ each term. Please find the new learn its for this term below.

Below are the focused ‘learn its’ in Year 2 this term. The emphasis is on quick and accurate mental recall of these number facts because a secure knowledge of the facts helps pupils with a range of maths concepts taught at a higher level. Reinforcement of number facts for a couple of minutes each day can really help to boost both confidence and recall.
