Celtic village

On a sunny Tuesday morning class 4 visited the Celtic village at St Fagan's. After much excitement all the children successfully travelled back in time to 2000 years ago! Wales then was a very different place and the houses people lived in were very different to those we have today. There weren't many home comforts in celtic times! Class 4 were eagle eyed and soon spotted many historical artefacts in the roundhouses. Spears, swords, animal skins, stone querns, weaving looms and wattle and daub walls were all discovered and sketched. Also, the children found out how well protected the celtic village was, with deep defensive ditches and high palisade walls. No wonder the Romans found us a fearsome lot when they arrived on our shores all that time ago!

A good time was had by all. The children behaved very well and were a credit to Ffynnon Taf school. Da iawn dosbarth 4!
