Talk Homework – Monday 10th October
On Thursday, we will be cooking a scrumptious autumn dish called ‘Banana and Blackberry Crush’ for the children’s alien friend. In preparation for this please could you talk with your child about:
*how we prepare for cooking e.g. washing our hands, cleaning the work surfaces, putting on an apron, tying hair back, gathering the cooking utensils
*the ingredients and equipment needed (the letter the children were provided with has been included)
*the bossy words we need to use when cooking e.g. cut, mix, cover, grate, slice, add, drizzle, pour, knead, chop, stir, cook, weigh, heat, blend, flatten, clean etc.
Why not make an exciting dish together this week and encourage them to use the vocabulary of instructions in a practical way!
