Talk Homework – Personal Reflection 7th November 2011

This week we are looking at writing diary entries.   I want the children to reflect back on a personal experience; therefore their talk homework this week is to discuss the children’s first day in Year 2.  Talk to your child and ask them:

*how they felt?

* what were they excited about? Scared about? Apprehensive/nervous about? Looking forward to?

* their views on their new classroom? Teacher?

*what they saw? Heard? Felt? Smell?

*their feelings and thoughts at the end of the day?  Was it better/worse than they thought?

* a special moment of the day?

I have included a famous poem by Roger McGough which we will be discussing in school and may give you some ideas on what to discuss.
