BIG TALK

This week you will be writing a diary entry about the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. Your Big Talk task is to talk about:

*when and why the festival of Hanukkah happens

*how you would feel (and your thoughts) the day before and during Hanukkah

* things you would do during the festival of Hanukkah e.g. give to charity, attend the synagogue, have presents, give money (gelt),  meet with family and friends, play dreidl, cook fried foods (potatoes latkes), light the eight candles.

* what you have learned about yourself through the eight day festival of Hanukkah.

*discuss the WOW vocabulary that you could use to:
a) describe how the potato latkes tasted, smelt like etc
b) the candles
c) how you felt winning the game of dreidl
