TALK HOMEWORK
Monday 26th
November
We are continuing with our work this week on describing the
settings of a story. This week we are
looking at Santa’s Grotto.
Please spend this week discussing:
*What you would see in Santa’s Grotto?
*What would you hear?
*What would you smell?
*What would you feel and touch?
The children did extremely well last week in using WOW words
(adjectives) to describe the objects in the waterfall setting. I want them this week to discuss any WOW
words to describe items within Santa’s Grotto but also talk about possible
similes that can be used in their descriptions e.g. the elves were as busy as
bees, Rudolph’s nose was as bright as a button, as quick as lightening the
elves busied themselves with their jobs, the snow fell like billions of
breadcrumbs, Mrs Claus was beaming like a full moon etc.
This week’s Big Write will be assessed to see how much
progress the children have made in their writing this term so the more talk the
better!
Thank you so much.
