Talk Homework

Remember the story of the three pigs in the wood?
And the wolf out to eat them if only he could.
Now the wolf tells the story from his point of view –
The pigs have it wrong, says you know who!

So here’s what wolf and his friends have to stay
But will you believe them at the end of the day?

This week we are studying the book ‘The Wolf’s Story’ and will be retelling the story of The Three Little Pigs from the wolf's point of view. Read the story included and discuss the illustrations.  Ask the children to give their impressions of the characters and explain what is happening.  Ask them to think about the adjectives and phrases to describe the character.

Why not cut the photos up below and stick them in your child’s treasury and you can jot your ideas around these?

This week I am also focusing the children in on using more ly words (adverbs) in their writing to describe how something is done
e.g. As I was walking in the wood could become As I was casually walking in the wood

Search through the story for verbs e.g. walking, building, called, ran, slammed, followed, called, huffed and talk about ly words that could be used to describe how these actions were carried out e.g.

called loudly
frantically ran
sneakily followed

YOU MAY MAKE NOTES IN YOUR TREASURY IF YOU WISH BUT IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL.
