Talk Homework - 9 th September 2013

For our first talk homework this year we would like you to talk about things that make you happy in life e.g. family, friends, being healthy etc….. Please could you also talk about any other WOW words that could be used for ‘happy’.  The children have come home with a treasury (see the accompanying letter) in which they may want to make notes or cut out images or photographs of what makes them happy.  On Friday we will be writing a list of ‘Happy Do’s’ for life.

This homework has to be completed by Friday morning in preparation for our Big Writing session.  You do not need to spend more than about 10 to 15 minutes on this. The focus is to encourage your child to talk, extend their vocabulary and be confident about the subject they are going to write about.  Many parents have found it useful in the past to leave it to the Wednesday or Thursday when some preparation work has already been done in school.

Just remember the more talk, the better! If there are any queries about Big Talk Homework or the use of the treasuries please don’t hesitate to contact me.
