Dosbarth Coala Visit the Bay!

Despite the rain, we spent the day today at Cardiff Bay.  Starting with some sketching of the boats at Penarth Marina, we then made our way to the Cardiff Barrage before walking all the way round to Mermaid Quay taking in all the interesting views and information along the way.  We arrived at the Norwegian Church (where Roald Dahl was baptised) and saw many other important buildings too including: The Senedd, the Pier Head and the Millennium Centre.  We watched a DVD of how Cardiff Bay has changed over the years.  We were even lucky enough to have our lunch on a boat, The Lighthouse 2000!

Before leaving the Bay, we stumbled across a letter in a bottle.  It was addressed to us!  It was from Captain Scott who has asked us to design and make a boat to transport supplies and equipment to him in the South Pole. His ship 'The Terra Nova' has become stranded!  We can not wait to get started!

Mrs Howells was extremely proud of the children in her class today.  Their behaviour was exceptional and they were a true credit to the school and themselves!  Da iawn Dosbarth Coala!  A fantastic start to our new topic 'Land Ahoy'.
