Talk Homework – Monday 22nd April
The Race to the South Pole

Following our visit to Cardiff Bay, the children have shown a lot of interest in Captain Scott.  Therefore this week I would like you to talk about:
What type of person Captain Scott was?
When did he go?
From where did he sail?
How did he travel?
What did he take with him?
Where is the South Pole?  What are conditions like there? (http://www.discoveringantarctica.org.uk/) Jot down some WOW words to describe this area.
Who else went with him?
Why did Captain Scott go on the expedition?
What difficulties did he encounter?
I have included some information for you to use.  At all times try and up level the words that you use and talk in full sentences and always extend your sentences with connectives. Make notes in your treasury if you wish!
Spellings: through, son, water, saw again
