Dosbarth Coala's First Two Weeks of the Summer Term!!!
Here is our 'Questions, Questions, Questions' display showing the questions we want to answer through our topic 'Land Ahoy'. Below is the success criteria that the children drew up together after receiving the letter from Captain Scott. They are going to very busy over the next term!!!!
The children have been putting their ICT skills to good use by researching different types of boats. They then recorded their results in a table.
The children have been finding different objects on our pirate map using their co-ordinates skill and have been answering the following in Welsh at the same time e.g. Faint ydy 30 a 50? Faint ydy 70 tynnu 40?
Here the children are using their orienteering skills to find their way around the school field. Da iawn Dosbarth Coala!!!

The children worked in groups to plan and record their ideas for their non-chronological reports on boats. Here are their mind maps of their work.
The children have been busy in the construction area constructing buildings from Cardiff Bay out of blocks, measuring the length and height of the buildings and then drawing plans of their buildings from a nosey neighbour and bird's eye view. Can you guess which buildings they are?

The Koalas have been busy making their own boats to use in the water area. The girls have constructed their own catamarans.
Dosbarth Koala have even wrote their own non fiction book on boats which they can enjoy in our very own Bat Cave!
