Talk Homework - June 25th 2012

This week we are studying a legend from Australia called ‘The Three Sisters’. Within this story there is a creature called the Bunyip (I have included some background on this creature overleaf).  Study the image and discuss any WOW word to describe it, any similes to allow us to imagine its size, strength e.g. its legs were as tall as skyscrapers. Discuss the creatures:
*appearance
*personality/temperament
*how it moves
*how it behaves (traits)

Why not cut the photo up below and stick it in your child’s treasury and you can jot your ideas around these?

It has been brought to my attention that some children are getting confused or are unsure about their Talk Homework at times. In school, I always go over the talk homework and give input into the writing every Thursday. Therefore, if you want to leave the talk homework until Thursday night when the children are more confident with the genre we are studying and background to the writing then please feel free to do so.  Any further concerns please let me know as I don’t want the children getting confused or upset.

Thanks for your continued support.

Have fun and remember the more talk the better!
