Healthy Week in Dosbarth Coala

WOW! What a week!  We have been extremely busy this week learning about how to live healthily.  We received a letter at the start of the week asking us to help advise children how to live a healthy life in a fun and informative way. The three areas we looked at were:
*Teeth
*Exercise and sleeping
*Hygiene
We worked in groups to decide how we would find the information we needed and how we were going to present our work to each other.  We worked very well as a group and soon became busy gathering our information from the Internet, videos, books and even Mrs Howells!  We decided to present our work as a poster, PowerPoint, Puppet Pals, and a display board.  We presented our work to each other and Mrs Howells, Mrs Stevens and Mrs Toose were amazed at how much we had learned, how well we worked as a group and they all agreed that our presentational skills were outstanding!

Throughout the week we have also been undertaking many challenges which involved: ordering food according to the amount of carbohydrates they contained, playing 'Trump Cards' with items of food, writing kenning poems about healthy living, making our own fruit smoothies, circuit training, graphing our favourite sports and even talking about foods in Welsh!

We finished this very exciting week by having a 'Wheel-a-thon' which involved completing a 5 lap course around the school grounds.  Mrs Howells was extremely proud of her koalas especially those who fell and got straight back on and carried on!  Da iawn Dosbarth Coala, you've worked extremely hard this week!

Enjoy the pictures!
