What a fantastic week we have had starting our work on studying the island of Hawaii. It all started on Tuesday when both staff and children came to school dressed in Hawaiian costumes. We enjoyed playing some traditional Hawaiian games, singing and dancing to Hawaiian songs, making and tasting many Hawaiian dishes, listening to Hawaiian stories and finding out facts about the country. Through the week we have also designed posters to advertise the country, located Hawaii on a globe and map and have even made our own mas of the country with a key and symbols.
