The children have settled back into school this term extremely well. Their behaviour during the trip to see Sleeping Beauty was excellent and they were a credit to themselves and the school. Da iawn, Dosbarth Coala!
This week they have been busy learning about the traditional tale from Wales called Branwen. They have been busy hot-seating the character of Branwen, writing persuasive letters to King Matholwch and designing and making their very own castle (Harlech Castle) for the small world area. This involved them studying Welsh castles and voting for their favourite, presenting the results as a graph using ICT, drawing detailed sketches of a castle and measuring and recording the height and length of the castle. Oh and actually making the castle itself! See them in action below. I promise to post a photo of the finished castle next week.
