I hope you have all had a relaxing half term and are ready to return to school. We have a very busy and exciting half term awaiting us. Firstly, we are diving straight into or new topic 'Remember Remember'. A leaflet will be sent home tomorrow with an overview of the topic but basically this project has a history focus and teaches
children about The Great Fire of London and the Gunpowder Plot and how these
are remembered.
As you are already aware we are visiting Llancaiach Fawr and Treforest Fire Station on Tuesday 12 th November as a hook for the topic and to explore what life would have been life back in Tudor Times and the role of the fire brigade in dealing with and preventing fires. If you haven't already done so please could the money for this trip be sent into school as soon as possible.
Mrs Stevens and I can't wait to see you collages of key people from either the Gunpowder Plot or The Great Fire of London and your length homework tomorrow.
Reminders for the term:
*Please can you ensure your child's jumpers and cardigans are labelled
*Please could you make a comment in your child's reading record file when you listen to them read. If there is no comment their book will not be changed
*Homework books are to be returned tomorrow and will be given out the following Monday
*Talk Homework and spellings will be given on a Monday to be learned by Friday
Thank you so much for all your support this half term and Mrs Stevens and I are looking forward to working with you again this half term.
